Senior Azure Engineer

Job summary

Senior On-Premises, Hybrid, and Cloud Engineer (Azure) responsible for building scalable, secure, and automated infrastructures with a focus on Infrastructure as Code and Windows System Administration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior DevOps / Azure DevOps Engineer
• Solid practical experience with Microsoft Azure Services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Identity)
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, e.g., Terraform (required), Puppet or similar tools
• Experience in building and operating CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Good knowledge of Linux and/or Windows system administration
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python)
• Experience with Git and modern version control processes
• Basic understanding of security, networking, and cloud governance
• Ability to analyze and solve complex infrastructure and deployment issues
• Comfortable in agile, dynamic environments and eager to improve existing systems
• Fluent in German and English (minimum C1 level)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Azure cloud infrastructures using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Puppet)
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes
• Ensure availability, performance, security, and scalability of Azure environments
• Collaborate closely with development teams to support cloud-native and hybrid workloads
• Administer and analyze Linux and Windows servers in cloud and hybrid environments
• Establish and optimize monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
• Implement DevOps best practices in version control, automation, and continuous improvement
• Participate in architecture decisions and technical concepts
• Assist with incidents, root-cause analyses, and continuous infrastructure optimization
• Share knowledge, support junior engineers, and develop DevOps standards and documentation
