Job summary
Soda Data is seeking a Senior Backend + Infrastructure Engineer to design and build robust backend services and APIs for their multi-tenant SaaS platform. The role involves improving service reliability and scalability on AWS/Kubernetes, shipping product features end-to-end, and driving architectural decisions.

Qualifications
- 5+ years building backend software at a product company.
- Strong Java skills: APIs, async processing, concurrency, performance tuning.
- Solid SQL skills: schema design, query optimization, migrations in production.
- Architectural judgment on API and service design choices.
- Experience with Kubernetes and AWS in production.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Familiarity with observability practices: metrics, logging, tracing.
- Experience with AI coding agents in production code.
- Ability to work independently in a distributed team.
- Fluent in English.
Responsibilities
- Design and build robust backend services and APIs in Java for a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
- Ship product features end-to-end and work directly with product and customers.
- Improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of services.
- Maintain fast shipping: CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, observability.
- Enhance systems for agentic development.
- Drive architectural decisions for service design and platform evolution.
