Senior CI/CD Engineer - Gitlab & Robot Software Pipelines (Human)

Job summary

Build reusable CI/CD systems that take cloud services, AI models, and robot software from commit to tested, signed, releasable builds, while helping engineering teams improve and own their pipelines. Responsibilities include developing GitLab CI/CD components, automating C++ and ROS 2 builds and releases, integrating software and hardware-in-the-loop tests, operating Kubernetes and AWS runners, and embedding supply-chain security. The role also connects build outputs to artifact registries and GitOps-based or over-the-air delivery.

Qualifications

• At least five years of CI/CD, DevOps, or build and release engineering experience.
• Hands-on GitLab CI/CD expertise, including components, catalogs, parent-child and multi-project pipelines, rules, and runner administration.
• Strong experience with C++ build systems such as CMake and Conan, and Linux packaging.
• Experience with Docker multi-stage and multi-architecture builds and Kubernetes.
• Strong Bash skills and experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
• Familiarity with supply-chain security, artifact management, and OIDC-based authentication.
• Professional English; German is an advantage.
• Experience in embedded systems, robotics, or automotive is preferred; ROS or ROS 2 experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain reusable GitLab CI/CD components and templates.
• Build fast, reproducible pipelines for C++ and ROS 2 codebases, including cross-compilation for ARM and embedded targets.
• Automate Debian packaging, multi-architecture Docker images, semantic versioning, and release coordination.
• Integrate unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop tests on robots and in simulation.
• Operate and scale GitLab runners on Kubernetes and AWS, including x86, ARM64, and GPU capacity.
• Integrate vulnerability scanning, SBOM generation, artifact signing, and secure cloud access into standard pipelines.
• Advise robotics, AI, and cloud teams; review pipelines and support improvements.
• Deliver artifacts to registries and over-the-air or GitOps-based deployment systems.
