WSP is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Engineer to support the regional Development Team in Edinburgh, focusing on civil engineering for development infrastructure. The role involves hands-on design, production of designs and drawings for construction projects, and technical reports for masterplanning. The engineer will contribute to various development projects across different sectors and clients, providing guidance to junior technical staff.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of highway/roads design
  • Experience in highway/roads design
  • Knowledge of drainage strategy and design
  • Experience in drainage strategy and design
  • Knowledge of flood risk assessment and management
  • Experience in flood risk assessment and management
  • Knowledge of utility design and planning
  • Experience in utility design and planning
  • Working knowledge of the Development Industry in the UK
  • Appreciation of hydraulics

  • Understanding of construction design stages and procedures
  • Ability to produce infrastructure masterplans

Responsibilities

  • Support the regional Development Team in Edinburgh, focusing on civil engineering for development infrastructure
  • Work within a team supporting the production of designs and drawings for construction projects
  • Work within a team supporting technical reports for masterplanning in support of planning applications
  • Provide day-to-day support in the delivery of concept studies/strategies with hands-on design
  • Lead to planning applications, technical approval submissions, and construction drawing issue
  • Contribute to all types of Development projects across all sectors and clients
  • Be active on several varied multi-disciplinary project/client accounts at any given time
  • Provide guidance and support to a team of experienced and developing technical staff of various grades
  • Be involved in high-profile client engagement
  • Be involved in stakeholder management
  • Be involved in design team liaison (internal and external multidisciplinary professionals)
  • Be involved in project management
  • Be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered to budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements
