Senior Cloud Engineer - Contract

Job summary

Flagstone is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to migrate live services to their new Azure cloud platform while providing operational support. The role requires hands-on experience with Azure, infrastructure-as-code, and a collaborative mindset to enhance the company's cloud engineering capabilities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Azure platform experience in landing zones and networking.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Practical experience with hub-and-spoke networking and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with automated security gates.
• Solid understanding of Entra ID and Azure management hierarchy.
• Ability to manage migration delivery and operational support.
• Clear communication of design decisions and trade-offs.
• Growth mindset and curiosity for continuous learning.
• Relevant Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-305.
• Experience hosting AI workloads and building internal developer platforms.
• Experience in fintech or financial services environments.

Responsibilities

• Migrate live services onto the new Azure cloud without disruption.
• Provide day-to-day operational support and incident response.
• Author and maintain production-grade Terraform and Bicep modules.
• Design landing zones and hub-and-spoke network architectures.
• Build shared integration front door for partners and AI tooling.
• Define and roll out golden paths to reduce delivery costs.
• Establish AI platform foundations and observability stack.
• Build and maintain infrastructure pipelines with security scanning.
• Implement RBAC using Entra ID and managed identities.
