Senior Cloud Engineer (EMEA, Remote)

Job summary

This role focuses on designing, developing, and securing a ClickHouse Cloud database platform tailored for regulated and mission-critical environments. Key responsibilities include architecting high-performance solutions, automating deployments with Terraform and Ansible, and ensuring compliance with security frameworks such as NIST and FedRAMP while addressing unique challenges in scaling and reliability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems
• Experience with ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra
• Proficiency with Kubernetes tools like Helm and Istio
• Experience in secure, regulated, or restricted network environments
• Experience with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Proficiency in Go or Python for automation and integration
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Passionate about efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a highly available, scalable, and secure ClickHouse Cloud platform
• Build innovative deployment automation across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem systems
• Work closely with existing Dataplane and Core teams for software parity
• Solve scaling, reliability, and performance challenges
• Design and deploy ClickHouse Cloud on Kubernetes and containerized environments
• Develop and maintain Helm charts, operators, and Kubernetes manifests
• Implement automation for infrastructure components
• Optimize ClickHouse Cloud database performance and storage architecture
• Integrate secure authentication, encryption, and access control
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for architecture and compliance
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and operational issues
• Automate deployments and lifecycle management using Terraform and Ansible
