Job summary
This senior engineering role leads the design, automation, and scaling of cloud, network, and Linux infrastructure in a regulated healthcare environment handling protected health information. The engineer administers AWS, OCI, and on-premises systems; builds infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines; develops Python and shell automation; and mentors the infrastructure team. The role also supports high-volume EDI exchanges using SFTP and AS2, disaster recovery, and on-call operations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- At least 5 years of senior-level production Linux administration experience
- At least 5 years of senior-level network administration and routing experience
- At least 3 years administering and implementing systems in OCI and AWS alongside on-premises environments
- At least 3 years of KORN or BASH shell scripting experience
- At least 3 years of Python scripting experience
- Experience building and automating infrastructure with infrastructure as code, automation tooling, and CI/CD
- Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to engineers
- Understanding of privacy and security considerations for AI tools in regulated healthcare
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based applications
- Healthcare and PHI experience, AI development tools, AI/LLM infrastructure, and high-volume EDI SFTP/AS2 experience are desirable
Responsibilities
- Set technical standards and mentor engineers in networking, cloud, and Linux
- Lead architecture decisions and troubleshoot complex incidents
- Administer networks, routing, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and TCP/IP across cloud and on-premises environments
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code and automation tooling
- Design CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and internal systems
- Manage AWS, OCI, on-premises, and Linux systems, including installations, upgrades, and patching
- Evaluate AI-assisted tools and manage infrastructure supporting AI and agentic systems
- Collaborate on workload migrations, scaling, optimization, and service refactoring
- Monitor backups and disaster recovery and business continuity environments
- Monitor and troubleshoot EDI transmissions, scripts, interfaces, and scheduled jobs
- Develop and refactor Python and KORN shell scripts and configure EDI/SFTP connections
- Participate in an on-call rotation
