Job summary
The Senior Cloud Engineer designs and operates secure, scalable AWS platforms for application, data, and AI workloads, replacing manual administration with version-controlled infrastructure as code and automated workflows. The role builds multi-account foundations, networking, IAM controls, Terraform modules, and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, and automates containerized and serverless deployments. It also embeds monitoring, logging, and audit controls while supporting platform adoption across engineering and security teams.

Qualifications
- At least 6 years of cloud, platform, or DevOps engineering experience, including at least 4 years supporting production AWS environments.
- Hands-on Terraform experience, including reusable modules, remote state, resource imports, drift detection, and pipeline-driven lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of AWS networking and IAM, including private connectivity, routing, DNS, least privilege, permission boundaries, and cross-account controls.
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar tools, including automated checks, approvals, and release recovery.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, ECR, and ECS, EKS, Fargate, or Lambda; experience with secure secrets management.
- Experience using IaC and automation to replace manual processes and improve cloud reliability and scalability.
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages, including APIs and cloud SDKs.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
- AWS professional or specialty certifications are an asset.
- Interest or experience in AI-assisted development, Amazon Bedrock, AgentCore Runtime, LLM architectures, or AI agents for cloud management is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Build multi-account AWS foundations using AWS Organizations and Control Tower.
- Engineer secure networking and private connectivity using VPCs, routing, DNS, endpoints, PrivateLink, Cloud WAN, and Transit Gateway.
- Partner with data teams on database and lakehouse infrastructure, including RDS, Aurora, S3, Databricks, Glue, Lake Formation, Athena, and Redshift.
- Implement least-privilege IAM, permission boundaries, and cross-account access.
- Develop reusable Terraform modules and manage infrastructure state, dependencies, and drift across the lifecycle.
- Own GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, including reviews, testing, security scans, approvals, container builds, promotion, and recovery.
- Replace manual infrastructure management and repetitive tasks with IaC, scripts, API integrations, and self-service workflows.
- Deploy containerized and serverless workloads with secure configuration, scaling, and secrets management.
- Embed logging, tagging, monitoring, and audit controls into platform designs.
- Maintain module documentation, architecture decisions, and runbooks; share knowledge across teams.
