Senior Cloud Engineer

Job summary

Supports commercial cloud infrastructure for a managed service provider delivering hosting and managed services across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and private clouds. The role migrates on-premises applications, engineers secure networking with IPsec/VPN and BGP, automates infrastructure, supports CI/CD pipelines and code repositories, and applies DoD STIGs and IA vulnerability management.

Qualifications

• Experience in computer science or information technology
• Mid- to senior-level cloud engineering experience
• Active security clearance
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IA certification
• Cloud computing certification, such as Azure Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Strong experience with IPsec/VPN, secure transport technologies, and BGP
• Proven experience migrating on-premises applications to the cloud
• Understanding of network, storage, server, and application technologies
• Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages, including Ansible, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Bash, Puppet, or Chef
• Working knowledge of Git or other code repository tools
• Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and IA Vulnerability Management
• CI/CD pipeline experience, such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or AWS CodeDeploy
• Experience managing several large projects
• Senior IT networking experience or equivalent
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
