Job summary

The Bundesdruckerei-Gruppe is seeking a (Senior) Cloud Engineer / Linux Specialist in Berlin. This role involves the conception, setup, and operation of high-security on-premise infrastructures, ensuring stable system operation and implementing security measures. The position also includes monitoring services, creating best-practice guidelines, and automating tasks using orchestration and configuration tools.

Qualifications

• Completed IT training (e.g., IT specialist) or a degree in computer science, or comparable professional experience
• Professional experience with secure virtualized infrastructures and common virtualization solutions
• Good knowledge of private cloud technologies, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Pipelining, GitLab
• Practical knowledge in the provision and operation of Linux systems
• Practical knowledge in supporting infrastructure and application monitoring solutions (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus)
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code technologies (e.g., Ansible)
• Knowledge of regulated environments
• LPIC certification is desirable
• Team spirit
• Openness to new technologies and projects
• Enjoyment of using open-source tools

Responsibilities

• Conceive, build, and operate on-premise infrastructures (private Cloud, KVM) with high protection levels
• Ensure stable and uninterrupted system operation
• Secure the technology stack through security measures and hardening
• Monitor services to maintain agreed system availabilities and proactively resolve or prevent errors
• Create and implement best-practice guidelines
• Provide and adapt environments for testing and integrating new or updated products and technologies
• Automate tasks using orchestration and configuration tools
