Senior Cloud Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Cloud Engineer is tasked with designing, implementing, migrating, and supporting cloud infrastructure, primarily utilizing Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. This role involves leading cloud migration projects, architecting secure Azure solutions, managing identity and access with Microsoft Entra ID, and implementing cloud security controls. Expertise in Azure compute, storage, networking, and automation using PowerShell and Azure CLI is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Cloud infrastructure
• Minimum of 5 years of MSP or consulting experience
• Proven experience leading end-to-end cloud migrations
• Demonstrated experience migrating on-premises file servers and shared data
• Expert-level knowledge of Azure compute, storage, virtual networking
• Hands-on experience implementing and supporting Azure site-to-site VPN
• In-depth experience with Microsoft Entra ID
• Minimum of 4 years of PowerShell experience
• Strong background in cloud security and governance
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune
• Experience with Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery
• Expert knowledge of Windows Server 2016-2022
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 services

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-class Azure solutions
• Lead cloud migration projects
• Plan and execute on-premises file server migrations
• Architect, configure, and support Azure compute, storage, virtual networking
• Design, configure, and troubleshoot Azure site-to-site and point-to-site VPN connectivity
• Design and manage identity and access using Microsoft Entra ID
• Implement and maintain cloud security and governance controls
• Design, implement, and test backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions
• Build and maintain infrastructure automation and scripting using PowerShell and Azure CLI
• Monitor, analyze, and optimize Azure consumption
• Provide Tier III escalation support
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Work with vCIO and Client Technology Advisors
• Define, adhere to, and improve cloud design and implementation standards
• Participate in training and certification programs
