Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - OpenStack (w/m/d)

Job summary

Join the OpenStack team to implement, operate, and develop cloud services for the CLOUD4EUROPE strategy. This role involves developing and operating Public and Private Cloud platforms based on OpenStack, conducting problem and error analyses, and managing Ceph-based storage clusters. Orchestrate services using Ansible.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed Computer Science degree or comparable education.
• Profound IT knowledge and extensive professional experience in Linux and OpenStack.
• Minimum two years of practical experience in OpenStack operations, ideally with Kolla-Containers and OpenStack services (Keystone, Glance, Cinder, Nova, Neutron, Octavia, Designate, Heat, Swift, Barbican, Manila, Masakari).
• Regular use of various Linux distributions.
• Hands-on experience in network technologies such as BGP, DNS, NTP, Loadbalancing, and Overlay Networks with OVS or OVN.
• Comprehensive knowledge of container technologies like Docker or Podman.
• Experience in operating SQL databases.
• Familiarity with Ceph, ideally with cephadm and RGW.
• Prior experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
• Proficiency with tools including Traefik, Consul, RabbitMQ, Galera, memcached, Redis, PowerDNS, unbound, chrony, Fluentd / Fluentbit, Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, Elasticsearch, and Kibana.
• High motivation and eagerness to learn.
• Very good German and English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement, operate, and develop cloud services as part of the OpenStack team, contributing to the CLOUD4EUROPE strategy.
• Develop and operate Public and Private Cloud platforms based on OpenStack.
• Conduct problem and error analyses and develop sustainable solutions.
• Operate Ceph-based storage clusters using cephadm.
• Orchestrate all services in the infrastructure using Ansible, with Kolla-Containers as the basis for OpenStack deployment.
