Job summary
The Senior Cloud Operations Engineer at Sage is responsible for ensuring the availability, security, and performance of the company's online product portfolio. This role involves bridging technical gaps between Development and Operations, leading incident resolution, and driving best practices in CI/CD and product delivery.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in Sysadmin, DevOps, SRE, IT Operations, Developer, or QA/Application Engineer roles
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Proficiency in English, verbal and written
Responsibilities
- Take personal accountability for products to ensure availability, security, and performance
- Design and implement solutions to simplify customer experience
- Understand operational risk and deliver excellent service
- Manage stakeholder expectations and team accountability
- Drive best practices in CI/CD and product delivery pipeline
- Promote DevOps/SRE culture and CI/CD principles
- Create, maintain, and enhance cloud environments
- Meet non-functional requirements for availability, security, and performance
- Define key metrics and implement tooling
- Coordinate with product delivery teams
- Lead during high-pressure incident scenarios
- Communicate with stakeholders on changes and service improvements
- Participate in 24x7 on-call Rota
- Review and improve services consistently
