Job summary
The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer leads the evolution of hybrid infrastructure supporting live online games, including a migration of systems into AWS. The role designs and operates production infrastructure across Linux, networking, data centres, and cloud environments; applies infrastructure as code to improve reliability; and mentors engineers. Key technologies include AWS services such as IAM, EKS, ECS, CloudWAN, and Direct Connect/SiteLink, alongside CI/CD and networking platforms.

Qualifications
- Strong experience with Linux and AWS, including IAM, EKS, ECS, CloudWAN, and Direct Connect/SiteLink.
- Demonstrated ability to lead AWS projects.
- Experience applying infrastructure-as-code principles to deployed projects.
- Solid networking knowledge and familiarity with VyOS, Palo Alto, or Arista.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and reliable delivery infrastructure.
- Experience with on-premise environments connected to cloud infrastructure in a hybrid setup.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet is preferred.
- Kubernetes experience is an advantage.
- Experience in gaming, VFX, or another creative technical environment is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Lead the cloud migration programme, including lift-and-shift migrations to AWS.
- Make architectural decisions and drive cloud projects forward.
- Design and implement infrastructure to internal standards and industry best practices.
- Apply infrastructure-as-code principles to legacy systems and cloud deployments.
- Reduce technical debt and improve platform reliability.
- Support game servers, web servers, and backend infrastructure in live production.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Participate in the production systems on-call rota.
