Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Job summary

Design and operate scalable, secure, cost-efficient cloud platforms on GCP, with GKE at their core, enabling standardized self-service infrastructure provisioning and application delivery. The role owns Kubernetes lifecycle management, reusable infrastructure blueprints, GitOps automation, policy guardrails, networking, production troubleshooting, security, and cost optimization using tools such as Terraform, Argo CD or Flux, GitHub Actions, and Python, Bash, or Go.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of cloud, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Hands-on GCP and Kubernetes expertise, including production experience with GKE.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane, or equivalent.
• Experience with GitOps using Argo CD or Flux and with GitHub Actions workflows.
• Familiarity with OPA/Gatekeeper or Kyverno.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tooling.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, gateways, Linux, and distributed systems.
• Proven troubleshooting ability and ownership of complex technical initiatives.
• Experience building reusable infrastructure modules, platform blueprints, or developer self-service capabilities.
• Preferred experience with MLOps, AI infrastructure, GPU workloads, or Kubernetes-based AI platforms.
• Preferred exposure to OCI or AWS in multi-cloud environments.
• Preferred familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or Datadog.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate cloud-native platforms on GCP and GKE.
• Build reusable infrastructure modules, platform blueprints, and self-service provisioning abstractions.
• Manage Kubernetes cluster lifecycle, upgrades, scaling, performance, and resource utilization.
• Build and maintain GitHub Actions workflows and GitOps pipelines with Argo CD or Flux.
• Implement policy-driven deployments and automated guardrails with OPA/Gatekeeper or Kyverno.
• Develop automation and internal tools using Python, Bash, or Go.
• Design and troubleshoot Kubernetes networking, ingress, service discovery, and traffic management.
• Diagnose production issues across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and deployment workflows.
• Lead initiatives from design and implementation through production readiness and operational support.
• Apply security practices across IAM, workload identity, network policies, and platform governance.
• Optimize costs through capacity planning, autoscaling, workload rightsizing, and resource utilization improvements.
