Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will design, build, and operate secure cloud-based research data infrastructure for biomedical and translational research programs.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in machine learning/ data science
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R)
• Knowledge of predictive modeling and machine learning concepts
• Familiarity with computing models for big data (Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark)
• Knowledge of databases (Relational/SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for research data
• Develop cloud-native and cloud-portable services in AWS or comparable environments
• Build and support data pipelines for metadata-rich, analysis-ready assets
• Implement and maintain trusted research environments and secure analytic workspaces
• Develop APIs and platform services for data discovery and federated query
• Integrate harmonization, curation, and quality-assurance components into workflows
• Implement software quality practices including automated testing and CI/CD
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to translate program requirements
