Job summary
Design, build, and operate the Azure infrastructure and Databricks platform that supports shared data products and future data and AI applications. Own Terraform infrastructure-as-code and Azure DevOps pipelines, configure Databricks capabilities such as Unity Catalog and access controls, and improve platform security, reliability, performance, and cost. Collaborate with Data Engineers and IT colleagues on architecture and solutions from design through operation.

Qualifications
- Production experience designing and operating Azure environments with private networking, identity controls, infrastructure as code, and automated deployments.
- Production Terraform experience, including reusable modules, state management, and safe changes across environments.
- Hands-on Databricks platform administration experience, including Unity Catalog, workspace access, storage integration, and identities.
- Experience building infrastructure CI/CD pipelines; Azure DevOps experience is preferred.
- Experience operating cloud platforms, including troubleshooting, recovery, lifecycle management, and cost optimization.
- Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into platform designs, evaluate alternatives, and develop solutions collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Azure infrastructure and the Databricks platform foundation.
- Own and evolve Terraform code and Azure DevOps pipelines for automated infrastructure deployments.
- Configure Databricks workspaces, Unity Catalog, storage integration, identities, and access controls.
- Monitor and improve platform reliability, security, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Translate platform requirements into practical solutions with Data Engineers, the Data Governance Lead, and IT colleagues.
- Guide solutions from discovery and design through implementation, validation, and operation.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and establish engineering standards.
