Job summary

The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer at Scotiabank will be responsible for building, tuning, managing infrastructure, and troubleshooting on Enterprise Security Kubernetes Engine platforms. The role requires technical leadership in cloud solutions, with a focus on security, scalability, and high availability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing cloud solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP
• 5+ years with container-based technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• 5+ years using CI/CD tools
• 3+ years hands-on with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm, Kustomize)
• Enthusiasm for cloud transformation and development
• Experience delivering enterprise systems with multiple teams
• Domain expertise in cloud platform features
• Ability to solve ambiguous problems
• Full stack product development experience
• Technical leadership experience in small teams
• Strong written and spoken communication skills
• Knowledge of software design patterns and DevOps
• Understanding of scalable enterprise-level software design
• Experience with relational databases
• Strong understanding of cloud security and networking
• Desire to learn and grow
• Passion for high performance and quality craftsmanship
• Documentation writing and maintenance
• Investigate and resolve system problems

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, manage, and maintain cloud platforms
• Serve as a senior technical leader and subject-matter expert for Kubernetes
• Provide Level 3 support
• Lead technical ownership of enterprise cloud products
• Lead design discussions on security and scalability
• Ensure software meets high availability and reliability requirements
• Collaborate with lead engineers on solution design
• Participate in planning and retrospective sessions
• Mentor junior cloud engineers
