Job summary
The Senior Software Engineer builds and operates infrastructure, tooling, and automation to keep globally used SaaS platforms reliable, scalable, and performant. The role improves full-stack resilience and observability, supports production incidents and post-incident reviews, and partners with development teams to embed reliability practices. The environment uses AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and technologies including Python, Node.js, .NET, and PostgreSQL.

Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in software development, infrastructure engineering, or site reliability engineering.
- At least 3 years in an SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering role in a production SaaS environment.
- At least 3 years using an automation-first approach with configuration management tools and scripting.
- Strong AWS experience, including familiarity with EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Proficiency in Python, Node.js, or a similar language for automation and tooling.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, load balancing, TLS, firewalls, and VPCs.
- Understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including query performance and operational concerns.
- Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
- Ability to communicate clearly, collaborate, and remain calm during high-severity incidents.
- Commitment to maintainable, well-designed, and testable code.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain infrastructure and tooling for SaaS platforms.
- Improve application resilience and infrastructure fault tolerance.
- Develop automation and internal tools to reduce toil and enable engineering self-service.
- Maintain logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting across AWS infrastructure.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and reliability risks.
- Conduct capacity planning and load testing.
- Respond to production incidents as part of an on-call rotation.
- Lead blameless post-incident reviews, identify root causes, and track corrective actions.
- Review system designs with software engineering teams from a reliability perspective.
- Mentor junior engineers on SRE practices and operational excellence.
