Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Consulting GmbH is seeking a Senior Consultant - Cloud Architect to design and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective multi-cloud architectures for critical systems. The role involves advising IT decision-makers on cloud strategies, leading cloud transformations, and ensuring security and compliance requirements are met. The ideal candidate will contribute to the future of the automotive industry by implementing modern platform approaches and actively scouting new technologies.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in cloud architecture/engineering, with several years of architectural responsibility
• Profound expertise in at least two hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with cloud-native architectures
• Experience with Kubernetes, microservices, event-driven architectures, and serverless
• Very good knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD for cloud environments
• Practical experience in cloud security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
• Experience in advising and presenting architectural decisions at management level
• Structured approach to new technologies and high learning agility
• Ability to prepare complex technical topics understandably and target-group-oriented
• Strong communication skills in German and English
• Experience in workshops and decision-making formats

Responsibilities

• Design and manage scalable, secure, and cost-efficient multi-cloud architectures for business-critical systems
• Develop architecture standards, reference architectures, and technology decisions
• Advise IT decision-makers (CIO, CTO, architects) on cloud strategies and architecture options
• Translate technical solutions into business value (cost, resilience, time-to-market)
• Lead and manage cloud transformations and migration projects
• Build modern platform approaches (e.g., Platform Engineering, Landing Zones, Developer Platforms)
• Ensure security and compliance requirements (e.g., Zero Trust, TISAX, ISO 27001, GDPR)
• Manage cloud costs and FinOps approaches (optimization, governance, transparency)
• Integrate cloud solutions into complex enterprise and automotive system landscapes
• Actively scout technology, build a Cloud Radar, and share knowledge within the team
