Job summary

The Data Platform Engineer designs, builds, and maintains big data services that address business needs while supporting reliability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence. The role spans requirements gathering through deployment and ownership, with collaboration across engineering teams and architects. Relevant technologies include Kotlin, Scala, Java, Python, AWS or GCP, and data frameworks such as Spark, Flink, StarRocks, Databricks, DBT, and Airflow.

• At least 5 years of experience in data or software engineering, including exposure to big data ecosystems.
• Experience solving complex problems in distributed and big data environments.
• Experience building applications with Kotlin, Scala, Java, or Python.
• Strong knowledge of AWS or GCP services.
• Experience building services from requirements gathering and design through deployment and ownership.
• Familiarity with cloud architecture patterns and quality, performance, scalability, reliability, and high-availability practices.
• Experience with big data processing frameworks or technologies such as Spark, Flink, StarRocks, Databricks, DBT, or Airflow.

• Design, develop, and own high-quality big data and software solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineers, and architects to design and ship features.
• Conduct peer code reviews and help establish coding standards and best practices.
• Improve security, reliability, availability, performance, procedures, and processes.
• Use data to guide decisions and propose technical solutions amid ambiguity and change.
