Job summary
Microlise is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract to join their Microlise One Analytics & AI platform. This role involves shaping and operating a next-generation data platform, blending platform engineering, cloud DevOps, and data governance to build a secure, scalable, and cost-efficient data ecosystem. The engineer will contribute to a high-impact data and AI transformation program, working on a modern, cloud-native platform with significant business impact.

Qualifications
- Strong experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering or DevOps within data-driven environments
- Hands-on expertise in AWS, infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience building secure, scalable cloud environments
- A solid understanding of data platforms, pipelines or analytics ecosystems
- A mindset focused on reliability, observability and continuous improvement
Responsibilities
- Designing, building and operating our AWS-based data platform using infrastructure as code
- Creating and managing CI/CD pipelines to enable safe, controlled deployments
- Supporting modern Lakehouse architecture, ingestion, processing and data serving layers
- Embedding security, governance and compliance controls across the platform
- Driving platform observability, monitoring, and performance optimisation
- Owning aspects of cost management (FinOps) and platform efficiency
- Collaborating with Data Engineers, Analytics & AI teams to deliver trusted data products
