Job summary

The Senior Data Engineer role is centered on designing, developing, and enhancing an enterprise data platform utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Key responsibilities include building scalable data pipelines, optimizing analytics datasets, and implementing data quality frameworks while collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure data accessibility and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Help own and evolve the enterprise data platform and engineering standards
• Design, build and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines
• Develop and optimise enterprise analytics datasets and data products
• Design and support cloud-native data solutions within Google Cloud Platform
• Contribute to the architecture, governance and continuous improvement of the enterprise data platform
• Build and maintain ELT/ETL processes using modern data engineering tools and frameworks
• Develop and maintain data models that support reporting, analytics and business intelligence requirements
• Implement and maintain data quality, testing and monitoring frameworks
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
• Optimise platform performance, reliability, security and cost management
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand and deliver data requirements
• Support platform governance, lineage, observability and compliance initiatives
• Mentor team members and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
