Job summary

The Senior Data Platform Engineer will design, develop, and evolve the enterprise data platform, focusing on building scalable data pipelines and ensuring data quality. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and collaboration with various teams to support business decision-making.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' experience as a Senior Data Engineer or similar role
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale data platforms in GCP
• Strong experience with BigQuery and cloud-native architectures
• Experience building scalable batch and streaming data solutions
• Experience with engineering standards including code reviews and CI/CD
• Experience with dimensional modelling and enterprise data architecture
• Experience implementing data quality and monitoring solutions
• Collaborative experience across technical and business teams

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the enterprise data platform and engineering standards
• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines
• Develop and optimise analytics datasets and data products
• Support cloud-native data solutions within Google Cloud Platform
• Contribute to architecture and governance of the data platform
• Build and maintain ELT/ETL processes using modern tools
• Develop data models for reporting and analytics
• Implement data quality and monitoring frameworks
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
• Optimise platform performance and cost management
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver data requirements
• Support platform governance and compliance initiatives
• Mentor team members and contribute to best practices
