(Senior) Data Platform Engineer (m/w/d) – Java/Kotlin Microservices (OpenShift)

Job summary

Design and implement high-volume, business-critical microservices in Java/Kotlin on OpenShift, ensuring performance and operability of the operational data platform.

Qualifications

• Degree in (Business) Informatics or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in microservice development, ideally in Java and/or Kotlin
• Solid experience with container platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes), CI/CD (e.g., GitLab), and cloud/event architectures
• Experience in building high-volume, performant, and scalable services
• Ideally knowledge in DevOps/platform engineering topics
• Independent, quality-oriented, and operationally focused work style

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-volume, business-critical microservices in Java/Kotlin on OpenShift
• Develop ingest and persister services, aggregators, and data providers for real-time data flows
• Responsible for architecture, design, and realization of scalable custom developments
• Utilize and establish DevOps practices (CI/CD, GitLab pipelines, monitoring)
• Ensure scalability, performance, and operability
