Job summary
A senior hands-on engineer builds and operates an enterprise cloud data platform, ensuring it is secure, scalable, reliable, resilient, and cost-effective. The role shapes platform architecture and engineering standards, improves monitoring and performance, and automates infrastructure and delivery using Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD. It also partners with data, architecture, cybersecurity, and delivery teams to address technical challenges, risks, and debt.

Qualifications
- At least eight years of experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Engineering
- Experience in complex enterprise environments
- Experience in architecture, engineering, governance, and operation of an enterprise cloud data platform
- Strong working knowledge of Snowflake, Azure, SQL, and Python
- Experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation, and observability
- Knowledge of data platform security, identity and access management, networking, performance, resilience, and operational governance
- Ability to resolve complex technical issues and provide authoritative technical advice
- Strong stakeholder engagement, technical leadership, coaching, and communication capabilities
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
Responsibilities
- Engineer, maintain, and continuously improve the enterprise cloud data platform
- Contribute to platform architecture, engineering standards, patterns, and technical controls
- Improve platform performance, reliability, security, resilience, and cost efficiency
- Build and enhance automation using Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD
- Strengthen monitoring and observability
- Apply Platform Engineering, DevOps, and DataOps practices
- Collaborate with Data, Architecture, Cyber Security, and Delivery teams
- Identify and address technical debt, platform risks, and improvement opportunities
- Share technical knowledge and support engineering capability development
