Senior Database Platform Engineer

Job summary

The Senior Database Platform Engineer builds and maintains performant, secure, and scalable database platforms that help business and technology teams provision, analyze, and consume data. Responsibilities include automating platform provisioning, configuration, monitoring, issue remediation, and security; troubleshooting complex database systems; and setting standards for code quality, deployment, architecture, and automation across technologies such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Snowflake.

• 10+ years of database engine engineering experience.
• 10+ years of experience programming with Python and/or PowerShell.
• 7+ years of experience with cloud platforms and providers.
• 8+ years of experience using SQL or NoSQL languages.
• 8+ years of experience with configuration management products and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• 5+ years of experience with containerized platforms.
• Expert knowledge of database engine internals, infrastructure, and concepts.
• Expert knowledge of CI/CD and SDLC workflows.
• Experience with Kafka and REST APIs or other non-database interfaces.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex concepts to varied audiences.
• Experience with or interest in object-oriented programming languages such as C#, Java, or C++.
