Senior DevOps Administrator (supporting NASA)

Job summary

The Senior DevOps Administrator role is responsible for supporting the operations of a NASA-developed test data analysis and repository system. Key responsibilities include providing software development and long-term support for the ARMD Test Data Portal, managing software updates and security configurations, and mentoring junior team members. The position requires experience with Java and/or C++, familiarity with DevOps tools, and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent years of experience
• 4 - 6 years of related software development/administration experience (minimum 2 years software development)
• Active Security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance
• Development experience with an object-oriented language, Java and/or C++
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices
• Experience with requirements development, source control management, configuration management, bug tracking and other development tools
• Experience managing application security
• Ability to prioritize tasks to deliver project milestones and meet project deadlines
• Strong communication/written skills and ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse team

Responsibilities

• Provide Software Development and long-term Software O&M/Sustaining Support for the ARMD Test Data Portal
• Recommend and implement authorized technical approaches for data management and integration solutions
• Provide problem resolution support for NASA users
• Manage software updates and security configurations for 3rd party platforms and tools
• Track and update service tickets for user issues and internal system management tasks
• Mentor and train junior members of the team
