Senior DevOps Engineer

Job summary

AVASK is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design and deliver platform architecture on Microsoft Azure, focusing on cloud-native infrastructure and secure deployment practices.

Qualifications

• Deep, demonstrable expertise with Microsoft Azure
• Proven experience designing and running workloads on Kubernetes (AKS)
• Strong hands-on experience with both Terraform and Bicep
• Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
• Solid understanding of secure deployment, identity and access management
• Experience designing for global scale
• Demonstrable experience of cloud cost optimisation
• Hands-on experience building or operating infrastructure for big data

Responsibilities

• Design the target-state platform architecture on Microsoft Azure
• Architect scalable, resilient and secure infrastructure
• Design content delivery and edge strategy using Azure Front Door and Azure CDN
• Own the container orchestration strategy across Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Design and support large-scale data platform infrastructure
• Embed security best practice into every layer of the platform
• Implement secure-by-design deployment pipelines
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Establish observability across the platform
• Drive reliability engineering practices
• Lead on cloud cost optimisation
• Act as a technical authority on DevOps and cloud architecture
• Mentor and upskill software engineers
