Job summary
Legal & General is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their DevOps team. This role involves leveraging strong DevOps and Platform Engineering expertise to design and implement infrastructure and configuration as code. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, addressing technical debt, driving continuous improvement, and enhancing ways of working to deliver high-quality, reliable software solutions that create meaningful value for customers.

Qualifications
- Degree-level qualification in a technology-related discipline or equivalent practical experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including cloud infrastructure, core services, networking, identity management (Azure AD, RBAC), and security tools (Azure Security Centre, Monitor)
- Proven experience with infrastructure automation and provisioning tools, particularly Terraform, and familiarity with ARM, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes (AKS preferred), and associated tooling (Helm, Kustomize)
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible) to improve efficiency and manage repetitive tasks
- Solid understanding of cloud security, vulnerability scanning, testing tools for infrastructure-as-code, secure configuration, and capacity planning
- Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain high-quality, optimized solutions
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in complex environments
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Ability to collaborate effectively within teams
- Demonstrated technical leadership or mentoring skills
- Ability to maintain clear documentation and governance standards
