Senior DevOps Engineer

Job summary

The Senior DevOps Engineer owns the architecture and operation of AWS infrastructure supporting a 24/7 SaaS revenue and profitability platform for the hospitality industry. The role includes migrating critical systems, building automation and infrastructure tooling, improving application reliability, performance, security, and scalability, and leading root cause analysis during a weekly on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in an operations, DevOps, or SRE role.
• Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; AWS preferred.
• Experience with system design, architecture, networking, and engineering-level security.
• Production experience with Terraform or Terragrunt and experience with Chef or Puppet.
• Experience with AWS services including IAM, VPC, EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
• Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, GitOps, and monitoring tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Ability to read Java, Ruby, Bash or Zsh, HCL, Python, and JavaScript.
• Experience with ECS or EKS, SOC 2 or secure-by-default practices, or L7 load balancing is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement infrastructure for critical system migrations.
• Build and maintain AWS tooling and processes for scalable SaaS operations.
• Improve application reliability, performance, security, and scalability with developers.
• Maintain highly available and secure infrastructure components.
• Align infrastructure decisions with cross-functional business needs.
• Lead root cause analysis and lasting fixes during the weekly on-call rotation.
