Senior DevOps Engineer

Job summary

The Senior DevOps Engineer is tasked with managing and enhancing the internal cloud infrastructure, focusing on security, governance, and compliance. Key responsibilities include ensuring continuous compliance with SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, operating identity and access management systems, and collaborating with engineering teams to improve the reliability and scalability of the cloud platform, primarily utilizing AWS and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and CDK.

Qualifications

• Deep AWS experience at organizational level, including IAM/SCPs and multi-AZ networking.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for infrastructure creation and management.
• Ability to evolve systems toward compliance with SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
• Experience with identity and access management systems.
• Self-hosting and operating internal tooling for team dependencies.
• Designing observability and alerting systems, plus on-call experience.
• Understanding of cloud cost management and FinOps fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Azure is a plus; AWS expertise is essential.
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, and/or Go for tooling.
• Comfortable in a remote-first environment and adaptable to ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Own the internal cloud infrastructure and serve as the primary point of contact for cloud operations.
• Manage and improve the multi-account cloud environment, ensuring security and compliance best practices.
• Support compliance with SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, preparing audit evidence continuously.
• Operate and enhance identity and access management, including SSO and MFA.
• Maintain and monitor internal services, ensuring service levels and vulnerability tracking.
• Monitor security and health of the cloud environment through proactive risk identification.
• Manage infrastructure costs and help teams identify potential risks.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance cloud platform reliability and scalability.
