Senior DevOps Engineer (m/w/d)

Job summary

The Bundesdruckerei-Gruppe is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in Berlin to conceptualize, build, and configure CI/CD pipelines, ensure smooth deployments, and implement application and user security. The role involves building, operating, and maintaining databases, deploying and operating third-party tools, and taking technical responsibility for services on the Private Cloud platform.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed studies in computer science or a comparable field, or training as an IT specialist with relevant professional experience in a comparable position.
• Proficient in handling K8s manifests, Helm, Kustomize.
• Basic knowledge of Ansible and Terraform.
• Experienced in building and developing CI/CD processes, especially regarding Day 2 Operations.
• Secure handling of Linux environments.
• Practical experience with container application orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• General IT know-how, especially in operating software solutions with external cloud providers and using agile methods (Scrum, Kanban).
• Systematic, goal-oriented, and independent way of working.
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken (at least C1 level).

Responsibilities

• Conceive, build, and configure CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth deployments.
• Implement application and user security (LDAP, SAML2, OIDC, Keycloak).
• Build, operate, and maintain databases (Postgres, MariaDB).
• Automate deployments with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, and ArgoCD.
• Deploy and operate third-party tools such as GitLab, Artifactory, Vault, Argo Workflows, Superset.
• Install and operate on-premise solutions for secrets, password, repository, and source code management.
• Ensure platform quality by participating in test automation in collaboration with the Quality Team.
• Take technical responsibility for Private Cloud platform services and collaborate with architecture, project management, and other teams.
