Job summary
PACE Mobility is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to architect and maintain their AWS-native payment platform. This role involves infrastructure ownership, ensuring reliability, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and managing cloud security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in DevOps or SRE roles, particularly with AWS and Kubernetes.

Qualifications
- Several years of experience in DevOps or SRE roles, with significant experience in productive AWS environments
- Proficiency with Kubernetes in production, including debugging, sizing, and network issue resolution
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
- Security mindset, including IAM Least-Privilege, network segmentation, and secure secrets management
- Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve incidents systematically
- Experience with compliance in payment-related or regulated environments (PCI-DSS, SOC 2) is a plus
- Experience with GitOps (ArgoCD, Flux, or similar)
- Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
- Experience with multi-tenant architectures
- Proficiency in German and/or English at a working level
Responsibilities
- Manage AWS landscape, including Kubernetes clusters, network architecture, and database infrastructure
- Shape the future infrastructure roadmap
- Develop and optimize monitoring, alerting, and incident management systems
- Build and optimize deployment pipelines for secure and fast releases
- Ensure cloud environment security posture, from IAM concepts to network segmentation and vulnerability management
- Collaborate closely with backend teams
