Job summary
The Senior DevOps Engineer develops cloud infrastructure and platform tooling for secure, reliable, and cost-optimized production systems supporting intelligent transportation technology. The role automates CI/CD, security and compliance checks, and operational workflows; manages AWS governance and infrastructure as code; and improves container deployment, observability, scalability, and incident readiness. It also leads AI-enabled engineering automation and mentors teams to improve security and developer productivity.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of technical or engineering experience supporting mission-critical cloud and infrastructure environments.
- 5+ years of experience with AWS multi-account strategy, security, and compliance.
- Knowledge of AWS architecture, managed services, and secure network design.
- Practical experience using AI coding assistants and large language models.
- Experience deploying and securing containerized applications using GitOps.
- Expertise in continuous delivery, trunk-based development, Python, Bash, and GitLab pipelines.
- Advanced experience with infrastructure as code, including Terraform, OpenTofu, or CloudFormation.
- Experience with observability, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing.
- Experience designing secure, highly available cloud data pipelines and working with relational databases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop secure-by-design systems from prototype to production.
- Automate build, test, deployment, and security checks in CI/CD pipelines.
- Improve system scalability, security, performance, availability, and cost efficiency.
- Automate vulnerability scanning, secret management, and cloud and container compliance checks.
- Lead AI and automation initiatives across the software development lifecycle.
- Mentor engineers and promote security-first practices.
- Document processes, system architectures, and security configurations.
- Participate in on-call rotations and maintain incident readiness.
