Senior DevOps Engineer

Job summary

The Senior DevOps Engineer provides technical DevOps and cloud-based expertise, contributing to cloud-based technology strategies and roadmaps. This role involves ensuring Cloud architecture aligns with D&T strategy, implementing and deploying solutions, and providing support and mentoring to junior colleagues. The engineer will use automation and IaC to improve efficiencies and ensure consistency across environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical DevOps and cloud-based expertise to the team.
• Provide high standards of technical design, delivery, operation, and continual improvement of cloud capabilities.
• Contribute technical expertise and thought leadership to cloud technology strategies, roadmaps, and service improvement initiatives.
• Ensure Cloud architecture is developed and maintained in line with D&T strategy.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the DevOps practice and toolchain.
• Implement, deploy, and integrate solutions, taking responsibility for successful delivery.
• Use automation and IaC to improve efficiencies and ensure consistency across environments.
• Ensure effective monitoring and alerting capability is in place.
• Deliver high quality services to agreed service levels.
• Provide support and mentoring to junior colleagues to raise technical standards.
