Senior DevOps Engineer - PA145

Job summary

This role builds and operates reliable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure for data streaming, processing, analytics, and monitoring. It manages production Kubernetes workloads on Amazon EKS and Google Kubernetes Engine, provisions infrastructure with Terraform, maintains CI/CD pipelines, and uses Python automation to improve reliability and enforce DevOps and SRE practices across AWS and GCP data services.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, or cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with AWS and GCP data services, including Kinesis, Glue, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow.
• Production experience deploying and managing Kubernetes workloads on EKS or GKE.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, ArgoCD, and GitHub Enterprise Actions.
• Python programming skills for automation and scripting.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or CloudWatch.
• Understanding of SRE principles, performance monitoring, incident response, and reliability engineering.
• Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure costs.
• Ability to influence changes across multiple teams and collaborate in an agile environment.
• Preferred experience with data lakes and big data frameworks such as Apache Spark, Flink, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Preferred familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Preferred experience with Apache Airflow or Google Cloud Composer.
• Preferred knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio.
• Preferred experience with GitOps workflows and Kubernetes-native tooling.

Responsibilities

• Establish and enforce best practices for data streaming, processing, analytics, and monitoring infrastructure.
• Deploy and manage services on Amazon EKS and Google Kubernetes Engine.
• Provision and manage secure, scalable, cost-efficient cloud infrastructure with Terraform.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, ArgoCD, and GitHub Enterprise Actions.
• Develop Python automation scripts and tools for DevOps processes.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.
• Apply SRE practices to improve service reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Analyze cloud costs and implement cost-saving strategies.
• Ensure cloud environments comply with security policies and best practices.
• Promote DevOps and SRE standards across data teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve development workflows and infrastructure.
