Job summary

The Senior DevOps Engineer role is essential for managing the DevOps function within the Divisional Data Team, ensuring secure and efficient transitions of changes from development to production. Key responsibilities include overseeing the Azure DevOps platform, designing CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake SQL and dbt models, and implementing robust database change management processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps
• Expert-level Git
• Strong track record of designing and running automated deployment pipelines
• Demonstrable release management experience
• Experience of database change management tooling
• Strong working knowledge of Snowflake administration
• Experience with dbt and SQL
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, scripting
• Understanding of networking, certificates and security scanning tooling

Responsibilities

• Own the Azure DevOps organisation and project configuration
• Administer permissions and access models across repositories
• Manage build agents
• Use Azure Boards to plan, track and report DevOps work
• Define, document and enforce the branching strategy
• Own the pull request process
• Create, structure and maintain repositories
• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Own database change management
• Own the end-to-end release calendar and release process
• Own role-based access control (RBAC) design and administration
