(Senior) DevOps Engineer - Platform Services (m/w/d)

Job summary

Seeking a (Senior) DevOps Engineer - Platform Services in Berlin to build and operate a central multi-tenant platform based on a shared enterprise Kubernetes cluster.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in Informatics, IT education, or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in building, operating, and administering enterprise Kubernetes clusters
• Solid knowledge in Infrastructure as Code and automation with Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, and GitOps methods
• Experience in observability, especially with metrics, logging, and tracing; knowledge of confidential containers is a plus
• Practical experience with virtual and bare-metal infrastructures and container storage solutions, ideally Ceph
• Good programming or scripting skills in Python, Golang, or Bash; strong networking knowledge (Routing, NAT, Firewalls, VLANs)
• Strong communication skills in German and English, at least B2 level

Responsibilities

• Build and operate a central multi-tenant platform based on a shared enterprise Kubernetes cluster
• Optimize platform components like Kubernetes, Ceph, RabbitMQ, Istio, and monitoring solutions
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes operators and automation solutions in Golang
• Ensure highly automated platform operations through Infrastructure as Code and GitOps principles
• Evaluate new technologies and continuously develop platform architecture
• Create and maintain technical documentation and define best practices
• Promote cross-departmental knowledge exchange and support departments in using the platform
