Job summary
Unum is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their UK Engineering and DevOps Team. This role involves providing expertise and automation solutions to the IT Delivery department, focusing on designing, building, and supporting robust automation solutions and advising on CI/CD pipelines. The successful candidate will also take technical leadership of projects and mentor other engineers.

Qualifications
- Extensive use of CI/CD tooling and scripting languages
- Working understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools
- Application development using modern techniques and languages
- Strong technical design skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent collaboration skills
- Experience with modern technologies such as virtualisation, containerisation, and cloud
- Working knowledge of DevOps concepts, security, and practices
- Keen to engage in technical and process improvement discussions
- Ability to drive change
- History of delivering projects on-time and on-budget
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across teams to deliver a high-quality Developer Platform
- Design, build, and support robust and secure automation solutions
- Advise and support delivery teams with CI/CD pipelines and SDLC tooling
- Adopt, demonstrate, and encourage good DevOps and Platform Engineering practices
- Take technical leadership of projects
- Coach and mentor other engineers
