Senior DevOps

Job summary

The Senior DevOps role focuses on leading a team to develop and support IT solutions for Customs, Excise, and International Trade. Key responsibilities include managing technical knowledge, providing support for live systems, and implementing solutions using technologies such as Gitlab, Ansible, and AWS. Candidates should have experience with version control and a variety of operating systems, particularly RedHat Enterprise Linux.

Qualifications

• knowledge, experience and understanding of version control
• a wide range of Operating Systems (predominantly RedHat Enterprise Linux)
• experience with Common DevOps tools, one of these languages, Configuration/infrastructure management tools, Container based infrastructure, Cloud Platforms

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of technical colleagues and prioritise own workload
• Develop, share and maintain technical knowledge
• Work with colleagues to deliver solutions within the required timescales
• Provide support for live systems, build and maintain the development environments and resolve incidents and problems
• Provide impact analysis/estimates for enhancements and changes and undertake peer reviews
• Build, test, document and implement solutions in accordance with the Delivery Framework and to team quality standards
• Develop and test coding changes in accordance with program specifications and test strategies
