Job summary
The DevOps / Platform Engineer ensures the high availability and secure operation of services supporting energy plants that convert biogas or hydrogen into electricity and heat, and can store renewable energy as green gases. The role manages Kubernetes clusters, infrastructure as code with Terraform, GitOps and CI/CD deployments to Kubernetes and plant systems, Kafka streaming, and ClickHouse and InfluxDB databases. It also contributes to cybersecurity strategy, system documentation, audits, and NIS2 and CRA compliance.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and at least 3 years of DevOps or related experience, or at least 5 years of relevant professional experience
- Proficiency deploying, managing, and scaling Kubernetes clusters
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and system administration
- Familiarity with metrics and log observability tools such as Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Loki, VictoriaLogs, or Grafana
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Experience operating data streaming platforms and databases
- Familiarity with NIS2 or the CRA is an advantage
- English proficiency at C1 level or higher
- Conversational German proficiency at B1 level
Responsibilities
- Provide and maintain multiple Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability of services supporting plant operations
- Define infrastructure and deployments as code and improve GitOps workflows
- Collaborate with developers to design and implement CI/CD deployments to Kubernetes and plant systems
- Operate and scale the Kafka data streaming platform, perform upgrades, and ensure reliable data flow
- Operate and scale ClickHouse and InfluxDB databases, including performance tuning, backup, recovery, and upgrades
- Help shape and implement cybersecurity strategy, document systems and configurations, and support audits, compliance, and reporting under NIS2 and the CRA
