Job summary

The role involves managing cloud infrastructure and leading the migration of a critical ERP to AWS. Key responsibilities include evaluating current infrastructure, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, and ensuring operational management of the infrastructure, including SQL Server compatibility and automation of repetitive tasks.

Qualifications

• Solid production experience with AWS, IaC, containers, Linux, networking, IAM, and secret management
• Proven experience leading complex cloud migrations
• Experience operating or migrating SQL Server on AWS
• Knowledge of high availability, backup, restore, capacity, storage, IOPS, performance, and SQL Server licensing
• Experience with Windows Server, IIS, PowerShell, Active Directory, and DNS
• Experience automating provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of Windows servers
• Experience with hybrid networks, data migration, and shared storage
• Experience operating critical systems and improving their availability

Responsibilities

• Evaluate current infrastructure, dependencies, risks, costs, and operational gaps
• Define target architecture in AWS and incremental migration plan
• Implement IaC with Terraform or suitable tools
• Migrate workloads while maintaining compatibility with SQL Server and legacy dependencies
• Manage daily operational tasks including user access and service accounts
• Manage certificates, DNS, secrets, patches, and server maintenance
• Automate and document repetitive operational tasks
• Enhance CI/CD, release security, and access controls
• Establish observability, capacity planning, alerts, and incident response
• Define and test backup, restore, failover, RTO, and RPO procedures
• Improve AWS reliability and cost efficiency
