Job summary
WestJet is seeking a Senior DevOps to design, implement, deploy, and support infrastructure as code to deliver APIs. This role requires a highly motivated, energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills to work in a fast-paced agile environment. The Senior DevOps will also lead development teams, coach other team members, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years of DevOps experience
- Experience designing and maintaining Kubernetes environments
- Experience building and deploying Docker containers
- Linux administration experience
- Experience with continuous integration, testing, and deployment
- Experience implementing advanced monitoring for platforms and applications
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with CDN systems
- Javascript (Node.js) and Java programming experience is an asset
- Experience with Event Broker administration
- Experience with Redis caching configuration
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, deploy, and support infrastructure as code to deliver APIs
- Apply industry-standard processes, practices, and techniques
- Lead development team and business stakeholders to develop appropriate software solutions
- Coach and mentor other development team members
- Support efforts to simplify and enhance systems for digital functions
- Implement and design CI/CD pipelines to automate API delivery
- Prepare and maintain Infrastructure as Code scripts for infrastructure and monitoring platforms
- Automate and document troubleshooting of production applications
- Participate and provide technical expertise for creation, implementation, and evolution of design and development methodologies, coding standards, and style guidelines
- Participate in pre/post-hours on-call rotation to maintain a 24x7 environment
