Senior DevSecOps Engineer

Job summary

The Senior DevSecOps Engineer builds and operates secure, resilient cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, integrating security controls throughout the software development lifecycle. The role includes managing AWS or Azure environments, Docker containers, and Kubernetes clusters; automating infrastructure and releases with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and Spinnaker; and supporting NIST 800-53 compliance. It also involves Python-based security automation and troubleshooting cloud, network, and deployment issues.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to pass a seven-year background check and obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance
• At least 7 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline
• Hands-on experience operating systems and applications on AWS or Azure
• Experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• Experience creating Docker images and working with containerization technologies
• Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters
• Experience creating Pipeline as Code for complex CI/CD workflows and release automation
• Experience securing cloud environments and integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in large, complex computing environments
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain secure, resilient, high-performing cloud-native architectures compliant with NIST 800-53.
• Assess cloud architectures and system designs for security vulnerabilities and implement remediation.
• Develop Python-based security automation tools and scripts.
• Manage AWS or Azure environments, Docker containers, Kubernetes clusters, GitHub repositories, and dependency management solutions.
• Deploy cloud infrastructure, platform components, HTTP/TLS configurations, and compliance assets using Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and related technologies.
• Automate operational and deployment tasks to improve scalability, consistency, and efficiency.
• Create and manage automated release processes and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Spinnaker, or similar tools.
• Develop and maintain Pipeline as Code and Infrastructure as Code solutions.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, network, security, and deployment issues.
• Use GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools to generate, review, validate, and improve code and automation workflows.
