Job summary

The Senior Digital Infrastructure and DevOps Engineer designs, secures, automates, and maintains Azure cloud infrastructure and deployment foundations for digital products and connected medical device services. The role leads infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability, cybersecurity, and operational support for regulated software, while also contributing to shared data platforms involving Databricks, SAP interfaces, and data pipelines.

• Experience in infrastructure, DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or software delivery; regulated healthcare, life sciences, or medical technology experience is preferred.
• Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience with networking, identity and access management, storage, compute, Key Vault, monitoring, resource management, resilience, security, and cost management.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, environment management, deployment, testing, release controls, and operational support using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Strong scripting, automation, troubleshooting, observability, logging, alerting, incident diagnosis, and performance improvement skills.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, secure configuration, access control, encryption, secrets management, auditability, and regulated software compliance.
• Ability to support software teams through development, integration, deployment, operational handover, and ongoing platform support.
• Working knowledge of Azure data services, Databricks, SAP integration, ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration, and data governance.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, technical leadership, and mentoring skills.
• Experience with IEC 62304, ISO 14971, or other regulated software development and risk management processes is desirable.
• Experience with connected medical device platforms, digital health services, remote monitoring, or high-throughput device data services is desirable.
• Experience with containerisation, Kubernetes, AKS, API management, application gateways, or equivalent cloud application hosting technologies is desirable.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Azure Data Factory, SAP BW/4HANA, S/4HANA, OData, CDS views, CDC patterns, or equivalent enterprise data technologies is desirable.
• Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400, or equivalent practical experience, are desirable.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, secure, and maintain scalable Azure cloud infrastructure for digital products, connected device services, and development and production environments.
• Manage networking, identity and access, storage, compute, monitoring, backup, resilience, security, and cloud costs.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, automated deployment and testing, release controls, and operational handover practices.
• Support software teams and development partners with integration, validation, deployment, troubleshooting, and platform operations.
• Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, observability, and incident-support practices.
• Apply cybersecurity, data protection, access control, encryption, auditability, and compliance practices for regulated software.
• Provide engineering support for shared Digital/Data platforms, including Azure resources, Databricks, SAP interfaces, and data pipelines.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to technical standards, and maintain architecture, deployment, runbook, support, and lifecycle documentation.
