Job summary

The Senior Drupal Infrastructure Engineer role is responsible for managing and modernizing UNESCO's web hosting infrastructure, particularly the Drupal platform. Key responsibilities include migrating websites to Cloudflare, deploying a WAF platform, conducting cloud migration studies, and ensuring daily maintenance of the web environment, including applying security updates and performance monitoring using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master’s) or bachelor's with a minimum of 10 years of working experience in IT
• At least 5 years of relevant experience focused on Drupal, Linux, and full-stack automation
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, MySQL databases, and CI/CD pipelines

Responsibilities

• Secure and modernize UNESCO's web hosting infrastructure
• Maintain and evolve the Drupal platform and its supporting services
• Support UNESCO's cloud and infrastructure strategy through targeted studies and reporting
• Responsible for the migration of defined websites to Cloudflare
• Coordinate with website owners to test migrated websites and fine-tune configured rules
• Bring on-premises websites under WAF platform protection
• Migrate websites from legacy load balancer to WAF platform
• Install queueing systems (RabbitMQ/MQTT)
• Upgrade SOLR and URL shortener system
• Test PostgreSQL
• Contribute to virtualization infrastructure evolution strategy
• Automatic deployment of new websites
• Perform cloud migration study and document results
• Apply operating system security updates to servers
• Ensure timely installation of Drupal security fixes
• Implement monitoring solutions for server performance
• Decommission unused websites and servers
• Evaluate Azure Arc and Azure features
• Provide weekly task reports via email
