Nav*** is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Platform Engineer to manage the Linux platform layer for their mobile mapping systems. The role involves OS lifecycle management, kernel and userspace integration, and developing sensor software modules, while collaborating closely with various teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development for embedded Linux systems
• Fluency at the kernel and userspace boundary
• Hands-on Linux image building and OS lifecycle management
• Linux userspace platform experience
• Integration experience in V4L2, GPU stacks, or GNSS software
• Clear communication in English

Responsibilities

• Own the OS lifecycle: bundle kernel and OS, build, adapt, package, and release Debian and Ubuntu images
• Integrate at the kernel and userspace boundary: bring in modifications and kernel patches, develop the hardware abstraction layer
• Build and maintain system services: D-Bus system daemons and platform utilities
• Patch and integrate kernel-dependent libraries: OpenGL, Vulkan, NPU, libc, and crypto
• Own the camera and media userspace: V4L2 interface and image controls
• Develop sensor software modules: GNSS and GPS message parsing and timestamping
• Support the ROS-based mapping stack: maintain C++ and Python mapping stack
• Keep quality measurable: build and maintain CI pipelines and stress tests
