Senior Engineer, DevOps

Job summary

The Senior Engineer, DevOps at Black Duck Software will be a key player on the Cloud Operations team, responsible for designing, implementing, and operating global customer-facing infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role requires strong hands-on GCP infrastructure expertise and a commitment to delivering highly available service experiences to enterprise customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in 24x7 production operations for SaaS or cloud services
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with GCP infrastructure and networking
• Experience with containerization and Docker
• CI/CD pipeline experience
• Experience with Java applications and J2EE technology stack
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or Go)
• Familiarity with AI and LLM tools for productivity
• Understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain resilient, secure, and highly available infrastructure for all SaaS and Hosted services on GCP
• Design and manage secure, scalable GCP network architecture
• Automate deployment pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and incident response
• Monitor site stability and performance using GCP-native observability tooling
• Scale infrastructure to meet rapidly increasing demand using GCP autoscaling and load balancing
• Own end-to-end operational responsibility for all customer-facing SaaS and Hosted environments
• Manage cross-functional requirements with Engineering, Product, and Services
• Collaborate with developers for containerized, Kubernetes-native deployment
• Develop and improve operational practices and procedures
• Meet standards for information security and compliance
