Job summary

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer maintains and optimises core IT infrastructure to support reliable production operations in a manufacturing environment. The role provides Tier 3 escalation for complex system and network issues, administers Microsoft Hyper-V and failover clusters, troubleshoots Cisco routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless, and develops SolarWinds monitoring using NPM and SAM. The position is based onsite five days per week and includes on-call, overtime, and out-of-hours support.

• Expert Microsoft Hyper-V administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with failover clustering and virtual switch configuration.
• Strong Cisco networking experience across routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
• Hands-on administration of SolarWinds NPM and SAM.
• At least five years of enterprise infrastructure, network, or systems engineering experience.
• Manufacturing, shopfloor, or managed services support experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain virtualised environments and server infrastructure to support production uptime.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation for critical infrastructure issues, including Hyper-V diagnostics, failover clustering, and storage performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, networking, and security issues.
• Manage network segmentation and VLAN changes across core and access switches.
• Configure, monitor, and administer Cisco firewalls and wireless environments.
• Own and develop SolarWinds monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and reporting.
• Provide onsite production support and participate in out-of-hours planned maintenance.
